Arthur Hudson is a character on The Blacklist.
Background[]
Congressman Arthur Hudson is a member of the United States Congress who serves in the United States House of Representatives and the United States House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security. He is also an ex-United States Attorney's Office prosecutor with a special expertise on political corruption cases, on which he based his whole congressional campaign around.

“Dr. Michael Abani”[]
Hudson opened an informal inquiry into FBI Task Force #836, looking at money from the government’s discretionary budget that were being funneled into the Task Force’s operations. He flagged the Task Force for its off-the-books, high cost status.
“The Sicilian Error of Color”[]
Hudson furthered his agenda by tracking the ranking member of the Senate subcommittee responsible for matters of government oversight, Senator Clayton Dorf. Hudson tried through official channels to set a meeting with the Senator, to no avail. Resorting to alternative tactics, Hudson used information gathered from his assistant Diane Atkins, to track Senator Dorf to his favorite Korean BBQ restaurant. While the Senator initially turned him down for a partnership to look into the Task Force, he eventually came around as a matter of good optics rather than Hudson’s altruism.

Hudson and Senator Dorf informed Cynthia Panabaker of the summons to a private federal hearing with Judge Hurban, to determine if the government could pursue a legal investigation into the Task Force. To railroad the proceedings, Red sent the Task Force after Blair Foster, a corrupt lawyer who had a history as a fixer for Senator Dorf. The Task Force leveraged this connection to quash the hearing. Senator Dorf announced at a press conference that he was pulling out of the investigation and leaving his position. Hudson confronted Dorf about the sudden about-face. When Dorf sent him packing, Hudson received an offer from Foster to engage her services.

Hudson called upon an old FBI friend from his days in the US Attorney’s office, Special Agent Jordan Nixon. He asked Agent Nixon to look into any possible roadways into the Task Force and any discernible information he could gather. While the case files were inaccessible, the only actionable intelligence Nixon could find Hudson was a high level proceeding involving a former Attorney General and four Assistant Directors of the FBI, including Harold Cooper. Hudson leaned a government official who was privy to the proceedings, and inadvertently learned of 1 name involved, “Zuma”.

Hudson tracked down Jonathan Pritchard for his connection to Donald Ressler. Hudson tried to convince Pritchard that Ressler was in over his head being in league with Red. When Pritchard laughed Hudson off, Hudson asked him to ask Ressler about Elizabeth Keen if he didn’t believe it. Ultimately, Pritchard returned to Hudson in agreement about Ressler.

Hudson moved to the next phase of his campaign to unmask the Task Force’s activities with help from Pritchard. Armed with a high-tech wiretap device, Pritchard used the nature of his NA-related emergencies to draw Ressler into an impromptu diner meeting. Pritchard brought Hudson recorded proof from Ressler’s phone conversations with Harold about the full extent and nature of the Task Force’s connection to Reddington. Hudson called in an NSA forensic analyst to reveal the full recordings from the wiretap device.

Hudson and Agent Nixon brought their evidence against the Task Force before Attorney General Stromberg. Harold and Cynthia were called in on the meeting to explain the apparent treason revealed by the wiretap recording. Hudson convinced the Attorney General to order the Task Force decommissioned. Hudson and Nixon led a team of FBI agents to the Post Office to deliver the directive and lock down the black site, interrogating the Task Force one by one about how much of Reddington’s treason they were aware of or connected to. Seeing that the Task Force was not responsible for Reddington’s choices, Stromberg called off Hudson, extending Harold one last chance to save the Task Force by putting Red at the very top of the Blacklist.

After shooting Dembe in the neck, Hudson is shot in the head and killed by Reddington.
"Raymond Reddington: Good Night"[]
Hudson appears in a flashback to his shooting Dembe and as a corpse. Dembe ultimately survives the shooting thanks to Reddington getting him treatment in time.
