“Caelum Bank” is the twentieth episode of season 9 of The Blacklist and the hundred and ninety-fourth overall.
Synopsis[]
Raymond Reddington determines that they payment made to the LaCroix's assassin was made from his account at Caelum Bank, which is a heavily guarded bank on several airplanes with no flight plans or Global Positioning System transponders. Reddington and the task force set out a plan to ground all air traffic so Reddington can interrogate Caelum's head teller, Harris Gramercy. Reddington shoots Gramercy in the stomach to entice him to reveal the person's identity, whom he reveals to be Heddie Hawkins. Reddington and the task force race to Heddie's apartment in Miami. The task force arrives first, but Reddington intercepts them and takes her. Harold Cooper follows a lead to 2 more lawyers involved in the same conspiracy as Tyson LaCroix and Reggie Cole. They reveal that someone directed the conspiracy, but nobody knows their identity, only that they go by "Claudius", and that they received a cut from every extortion. As Reddington interrogates Heddie, Marvin brings in a witness who proves Heddie's disloyalty to an extent of looking for other work 3 years prior. Weecha Xiu then brings Heddie into another room and a gunshot is heard. As Alina Park is combing through the LaCroix's belongings, she watches their wedding video where she sees that Marvin Gerard was the best man, proving he lied about knowing them. Harold Cooper tips off Reddington and while on his jet, Reddington reveals he spared Heddie's life and was aware of Marvin's deception after remembering that Liz Keen took some aspirin the day of her death, which was provided by Marvin, thus proving how the tracking device was inside her. Marvin reveals that he never approved of Liz being Reddington's successor, and that the events of the season (Cooper's blackmail, the Kaplan scheme, framing Heddie) was all in attempt to conceal Reddington from learning the truth of Liz's death. Marvin reveals that he has a sniper aiming at Mierce and demands that Reddington let him leave or else she will be shot. It is also revealed that Marvin is Claudius, meaning that he directed the entire lawyer conspiracy.
