“El Conejo” is the seventeenth episode of season 9 of The Blacklist and the hundred and ninety-first overall.
Synopsis[]
Aram Mojtabai gets kidnapped by a blacklister known as El Conejo (aka Francisco Luis Marquez), a black market avocado trafficker, for supposedly making a shipment of avocados vanish. Marquez discloses that malware with Aram's name embedded within the code is what caused the disappearance. It is then revealed that Marquez's son Antonio was behind it by using Aram's GreyLock code, which was distributed by his business partner Nick. Aram then deletes all of his source code, effectively crippling GreyLock. Raymond Reddington pays a visit to a man named Kosta at a villa in Montenegro. After Reddington was supposed to be killed, Liz Keen was to head there, meet with Kosta, and watch the DVD's that were found in Reggie Cole's vault at Mount Bastion. Reddington eventually discovers that the safe he had constructed to house the DVD's, which was biometrically programmed to only be opened by him and Liz, was stolen and switched with an identical safe without Kosta's knowledge. Reddington contacts the safe manufacturer who admits that he made both safes under the guise that they were both for Reddington, and reveals that the person who contracted him to build the second safe was a woman who went by Mr. Kaplan and notably called him "dearie".
