Spoiler Policy[]

I think we really need to set out a spoiler policy for in-character articles; stuff about upcoming episodes really shouldn't be there and for those of us (like myself) based outside the US or who are new to the show we don't want great big info about character deaths at the top of a page.

Can I suggest we start with posting nothing in IC articles until the relevant episodes have aired in the PST time zone?

The only information we post on upcoming episodes is the Press Release.
I am not sure what you mean by information about character deaths, since the only recurring characters to have died are Luli Zeng and Anslo Garrick and as I far as I can recall it was some time after transmission that the introductions for Luli and Garrick were changed,
In the case of a single episode character, the page is only created once the episode has been transmitted and the cast list is checked so that the name of the actor can be entered, quite often it is more than 1 day after transmission before someone creates the page.
If you could cite an example it would be very helpful, since, as I said, I am unsure of where and when such spoilers have occurred. Dragonfighter1 (talk) 21:54, December 21, 2013 (UTC)
It hasn't happened yet, but it could. Silent Hunter UK (talk) 22:57, December 21, 2013 (UTC)
I'm a great believer in not looking for problems, if the situation arises we'll revist and devise a suitable policy.
At least we don't have the problem that "Castle" wikia have, where the episode is transmitted in Canada a day earlier!
If an episode is pre-empted in one zone and transmitted in another a message will be posted on the episode page requesting that no postings are made until full transmission.  Dragonfighter1 (talk) 23:20, December 21, 2013 (UTC)
There is actually a promotional picture from episode 11 in the Luli Zeng article; some wikis would deem that spoilery. It's not that much and I understand your desire to wait for a problem to arise. Silent Hunter UK (talk) 09:35, December 22, 2013 (UTC)
As Luli was was shot and killed in episode 9 (transmission date November 25), I don't think that a photograph of her in a coffin (posted 21 December) is a spoiler - If the photograph had been of her alive, then I would agree that it would be a spoiler.  Dragonfighter1 (talk) 10:03, December 22, 2013 (UTC)
Had there been photograph of Red where he is obviously back as full member of the team, rather than him invterviewing team members in ambiguous locations they could be classed as spoilers, but because these are promotional photgraphs, which are meant to attact viewers without divulging the plot, it ispossible that they are deliberately misleading.Dragonfighter1 (talk) 10:12, December 22, 2013 (UTC)
In the end, that particular shot didn't even feature in the episode, at least as aired in the UK. Sky Living has now caught up with NBC; we'll be four days (well, just under) behind until the season finale. Silent Hunter UK (talk) 17:17, April 21, 2014 (UTC)
