Background[]
Herbie is a forensic analyst that Reddington keeps on retainer when a difficult device or substance needs to be identified on short notice. Herbie has a background as an expert witness in legal cases, and has confided in Reddington that he has been itching to get fully back into the forensics world at an actual crime lab. He is married to a punk-rock singer for a band called the Vitametavegamins, and stays home with Sue to support his wife’s career. He is also a professional foosball player.

Trivia[]
- Herbie Loves to be of service to Reddington and the task force, though not being fully in the know about who they are and what they do.
- The first time the Task Force brings Herbie to the Post Office black site, for forensic help, when they need his help analyzing evidence from the Freelancer after a ferry fire. Herbie says that from the many precautions to get there, he understands it must be a black site and guess that they are CIA, NSA, or an organization like them, though he doesn't get a definitive answer from the team.
- In Season 10 (episode 7), Herbie offers to keep helping the team with the forensics until they have solved the Freelancer case, which Harold Cooper accepts.
