Background[]
When Perillos was 12 years old, her mother went to the hospital with a neural infection, but the doctors misdiagnosed it as a lighter health issue. This infection would later make Perillos's mother bedridden for the rest of her life, while suffering from intense persistent pain. According to Laken, the misdiagnosis was caused by the belief that people with darker skin are less susceptible to pain than other individuals.
At some point, Perillos began to work for Neville Townsend as an interrogator. Since she is obsessed with causing and studying pain, Laken became notable for how unorthodox and extreme her methods for obtaining information were. She ended up being arrested by the FBI for her crimes.
