Background[]
Mato, whose real name is unknown, is a bounty hunter and sometimes killer for hire. A Native American, he is said to be part Sioux and to be the son of a shaman and is an expert tracker. He first started working as a skiptracer under Little Nikos, a veteran bail bondsman in Amarillo, Texas. In “Requiem” it is mentioned he once broke the jaw of a guy to find his brother, who skipped bail to go to his father's funeral.
