Unanswered Questions

  1. Joe Putnum references the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
  2. The episode references the Nipah virus of Ranko Zamani and the character of Frederick Barnes.
  3. Raymond Reddington
    1. When did Red decide to burn down the Internal Revenue Service office instead of the business?
    2. Why were there mistakes on the tax returns?
      1. A: There were no mistakes. Reddington was laundering money through the business and that flagged the tax return.
  4. Elizabeth Keen
    1. Why did Keen warn Singleton against investigating further without backup?
      1. A: She wanted to protect him.
    2. What will Keen do upon positively identifying Garvey as Tom's killer? Will she go to Red for help?
  5. Patricia Sue Edwards
    1. Will Edwards be shown leniency in exchange for her working for the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases?
      1. A: Possibly, due to Edwards exposing Cronin for his actions.
    2. Why was Edwards stripped of her security clearance after her husband was killed?
      1. A: Cronin framed her husband, Dennis, for stealing the opium that lead to his dishonorable discharge. She had her security clearance stripped.
    3. Will Caleb James Cronin's confession be admissible?
      1. A: Given the crimes he committed with his co-conspirators in killing Patricia's husband, Dennis, then framing him for stealing the opium that lead to his dishonorable discharge, Cronin will likely face court martial and prison.
    4. Why where there cartridges in the flag?
      1. A: The 3 casings are from the 3 volleys they shot after Cronin's confession overturned the dishonorable discharge to an honorable discharge. That made Edwards eligible for a 3 volley salute.
    5. Why did Edwards have a number on the Blacklist?
      1. A: She was the criminal who undertook the crime. Blacklist numbers are assigned at random to the person who is the key priority and/or threat.
      2. Edwards never committed a crime before. She could not have been on Remmington's Blacklist unless you are saying he is creating the list as the show progresses. My understandng is that Remmington has this numbered list of criminals that he is already familiar with and he is dolling their names out to the FBI is seemingly random order. Remmington didn't give the FBI Edwards name, he was busy with his own problems. Edwards appears out of nowhere. I can understand that she might have been added to the list after the fact but I would think by this time 68 would have already been assigned to someone else. Seems to me she had nothing to do with Remmington.
  6. Donald Ressler
    1. Why did Ressler refuse to give Cronin the cure after Edwards told him that they were both dying?
      1. A: He wanted Cronin's confession in his involvement in killing Edwards' husband and framing him for the crime.
    2. Why did Ressler accompany Edwards for the 3 volley salute at her husband's grave site?
      1. A: Edwards was in his custody, therefore he had to be there.
  7. Ian Garvey
    1. Why did Garvey kill Singleton and then claim that he will look into the murder?
      1. A: Singleton knew that Garvey was guilty.
    2. How did Garvey find out that Singleton was on to him?
      1. A: He followed Singleton to his office and saw Singleton searching his desk, finding his burner.
  8. Norman Singleton
    1. Why did Singleton refuse to wait for backup?
      1. A: He suspected that his boss, Garvey, was behind the murders and wanted Liz to call the burner cell phone to prove his theory.
  9. Hershey Hepworth
    1. Why did Hepworth confess his "sins" to Red?
    2. Will Charlie Hepworth be admitted to Davenport Academy?
      1. A: He was accepted due to Red promising the headmaster that they will get a new locker room and gym for Davenport Academy.
    3. Why was Hepworth replaced with Larry Hotchkiss?
  10. Why did the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suit not have a longer oxygen supply?
