Raymond Reddington: Good Night” is the twenty-second episode of season 10 of The Blacklist, the two-hundred and eighteenth overall and the series finale.

Synopsis[]

Raymond Reddington is still being hunted by the Task Force throughout the episode. Reddington helps FBI special agent Dembe Zuma recover from the bullet wound that he sustained in the neck from congressman Arthur Hudson by bringing him to a small, local hospital in DC, undergoing emergency surgery. Reddington also transfused his own blood towards Zuma, which turned out to be a critical decision in Dembe's fate.

At the Post Office, following Congressman Hudson's death via a gunshot to the head by Reddington, Special Agent Jordan Nixon, a good friend of Hudson's, tells 1 of the FBI agents, Special Agent Ishwood, that he plans on killing Reddington if he's ever caught. Special Agent Siya Malik and Herbie Hambright overhear the conversation, Herbie then leaves the Post Office and the Task Force as a whole as he thinks that if Raymond ever gets caught, imprisoned or even worse; killed, his family will resent him as Holly and Sue really like Raymond.

In the meantime, Malik goes upstairs along with Special Agent Donald Ressler to tell assistant director Harold Cooper, the leader of the Task Force, that Nixon is speaking about killing Raymond, they also discuss Raymond's potential location by trying to track multiple private flights.

Harold goes downstairs to confront Nixon about him running his mouth in regards to killing Reddington. Harold, while at the same time standing by his actions and the actions of the Task Force and his readiness to face the consequences for it, threatens Nixon that even if something as excessive force is used against Reddington when he is caught, Nixon will too be punished. The confrontation gets heated and Harold pushes Nixon away, before agents break up the fight. Harold then gets in the elevator with Ressler and leaves the Post Office.

In rural Spain, Reddington has just woken up and has gone for a walk outside to check out the local market. He buys multiple fruits and vegetables, and he stumbles upon some great looking watermelons. Raymond tries to talk with the seller in English, and it doesn't really work out; luckily the sellers daughter knows English, and they settle for the watermelons to be delivered to Raymond's staff side of the pension.

Harold then visits Dembe in the hospital, having a talk about how he's feeling. They suddenly get interrupted by a call from Ressler and Malik to inform Harold that they might know what flight Raymond was on; Marseille. Dembe interrupts Malik on the phone and explains that there is a rural town a 2 hour drive away from Marseille where Raymond used to visit 10 years ago, with this lead, Ressler goes to Spain. Harold leaves the hospital to attend a meeting about Dembe.

Ressler calls Harold as he's in the rural town in Spain where Raymond seems to be hiding. Raymond coincidentally calls Harold and interrupts the talk with Ressler to talk to Dembe because the front desk of the small hospital told him that he's visiting. Raymond seems way more cheered up after talking to Dembe, not really knowing that Ressler is searching for him in the same city.

Ressler then knocks on the door of a house where Raymond seems to be, Angela answers the door and is prompted with a picture of Raymond Reddington, Ressler asks if she has seen this man and Angela answers that she's never seen him. Angela looks stressed but let's Ressler check the premises for him to see that Raymond is not in the pension.

Raymond goes out for a walk in the bull fields, not taking any belongings, not any weapons with him, apart from a glass bottle of water given to him by Angela.

Ressler leaves and calls Harold, telling him that he's not there; Dembe tells Ressler that he should check the local market, as Raymond always goes to those if he's traveling in a rural area. Ressler listens to Dembe's tip, and goes asking people at the market if they saw Raymond, he stumbles upon the watermelon seller and his daughter and asks if they have seen Raymond. They say yes and proceed to tell him that they delivered watermelons to the staff pension, Ressler thanks them and hurries to the staff side of the pension.

Ressler runs into the staff pension with Angela following behind him, presumably trying to stop him. He finds Raymond's belongings and asks Angela where Raymond is, and Angela replies that he went on a long walk. Ressler asks how long ago but Angela does not give an answer.

Ressler then gets out of the staff pension and calls commissioner Alvarez to get a helicopter to explore the nearby plains and surroundings for Reddington.

Raymond is walking the bull plains alone, looking around before hearing a bull growl behind him. There's a long stare down between the bull and Raymond. The bull seems indecisive as to attack Raymond, but Raymond doesn't move; to signal that he's accepting his fate. The bull charges towards Raymond, mauling him down, and killing him.

Harold visits Dembe once again after the classified meeting he had, informing Dembe that he doesn't have any charges pressed against him but he is relieved of FBI active duty.

A mere minute away is Ressler and Commissioner Alvarez of the National Police on the helicopter, they land where they seem to see Reddington. Ressler rushes out of the helicopter towards Raymond's broken body, he looks at him for several seconds before calling Harold to inform him that he's finally got Reddington.

Reddington has perished due to the injuries and wounds from the bull, and the Task Force has been disavowed.
