Roy Cain was a member of The Blacklist.

Background[]

Roy Cain comes from a long lineage of career prison administrators and wardens, dating back to his great-great grandfather, who worked at the Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola) and used to hire out the prisoners as forced labor, starting a side business that would be carried on by all of Cain's following ancestors, including Roy, who became a well regarded criminal contractor that would accept any job as long as the price was right. For that, Roy would place selected prisoners with unique skills at the Wallens Ridge state prison into solitary confinement and use them to commit crimes, from abductions to contract killings. In exchange for their services the prisoners would get special treatment inside the prison and their family was given a percentage of the money that Cain made from the crimes.

Trivia[]

  • The mention of the grandfather working at the Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola) meshes with Cain’s family history. Many employees at the prison are from families that rely on the prison for employment. At least 1 warden has had the last name Cain. The inmates are used for prison labor.
