“The Bear Mask” is the nineteenth episode of season 9 of The Blacklist and the hundred and ninety-third overall.
Synopsis[]
Resulting from the explosion, Weecha Xiu has suffered severe injuries and wounds. As a result, Mierce returns to care for her. Raymond Reddington enlists the help of a former ally, Vlad Cvetko, to identify if the corpse of the woman from the building was Kathryn Nemec after Cooper reveals her DNA was there. Aram Mojtabai enlists in an experimental hallucinogenic therapy to help him cope with anxiety and depression. As he starts to hallucinate, he experiences a looping event where commandos, led by a man in a metallic bear mask, assault the Post Office and kill the team. The masked man is revealed to be Aram, but a more sinister version of himself. In the hallucination, he is saved by Samar Navabi, who tells him to stop blaming himself for the negative things in his life. Donald Ressler and Harold Cooper search for Lacroix's wife, who they find dead in a parking garage. They spot her assassin close by and arrest him. Vlad reveals that the woman who was in the building was indeed Nemec's sister, Maureen Rowan, based on the DNA samples he verified. The team determines that the assassin was paid by an account from a shut down Lebanese bank. Reddington discloses that the account used was his own, indicating someone extremely close to him is behind the events throughout the season.
