Unanswered Questions[]
- Raymond Reddington
- Why does Raymond Reddington, without any suggestion or provocation whatsoever from anyone or anything, deliver to the authorities what he himself describes as ”of all the enterprises I’ve designed and maintained as part of my organization, it stands as one of the crowning achievements”, ”a logistical marvel to rival the pyramids”, and ”every year, moving goods of more value than the GDP of some first-world countries”?
- A: Arthur Hudson is invoking more political pressure on the task force. Red needs to give them victories to avoid exposure.
- A: Red has been shown losing his perspective for several seasons.
- A: Red’s crime syndicate has suffered severe damage. Perhaps Red judged that it was time to shut down the operation on his terms.
- A: There is no proof that Red's illness, which was severe enough to orchestrate his death at Elizabeth's hands, has been solved. On the contrary, over the course of the season we see him getting rid of all his property. Shutting down his criminal empire before his possible death, and doing so via the FBI, guarantees that no one will be able to take over the infrastructure and misuse the criminal empire he founded with the single purpose of protecting those he values. With the added pressure on the Task Force, Reddington may very well be planning on proving Cooper and the others are not corrupt, as Arthur Hudson (Character) believes them to be, by publicly arresting him before he succumbs to whatever may be killing him.
