Background[]
The Third Estate was a domestic anti-captalist terrorist organization that targeted the rich and the powerful, taking their name and inspiration from the French Revolution. While many in the U.S government believed the group to be simply a band of political agitators and protesters, the Third Estate took steps to escalate their operation to a new level. For that end, the organization recruited into their ranks the children of some of the nation's wealthiest families and staged their kidnappings in order to collect hundreds of millions of dollars from their parents as ransom so they could finance their agenda. The Third Estate staged the kidnappings and collected the ransoms on 4 of their members, extorting millions of dollars from major tycoons of the petroleum, real estate, pharmaceutical, and financial industries.
